AMEA Grant Allows for Sign Upgrade

The City of Lafayette with assistance from the Chambers County Development Authority received a $5,000 grant from the AMEA Special Projects Fund to refurbish the sign and landscaping at the Lafayette Industrial Park entrance. The AMEA Special Projects Fund is a program designed to assist its member communities with community and economic development projects. “We feel the rehabilitation of the sign was necessary to enhance the overall aesthetics of the Industrial Park. It will allow Chambers County to continue to add to its competitive advantage.” Miss Fuller of the CCDA stated. AMEA is the wholesale provider for 11 public power utilities in Alabama, which serve approximately 350,000 customers in the cities of Alexander City, Dothan, Fairhope, Foley, LaFayette, Lanett, LuVerne, Opelika, Piedmont, Sylacauga and Tuskegee.
